O nama

About us

Located near the natural beauty of the Mirna River and next to the world-famous truffle site Buzet, the Most tavern symbolizes a pillar of gastronomy and culture, passing the tradition from generation to generation. It is proud to bear the title of one of the oldest taverns in Istria, dating back to 1933. The almost century-old adventure of the Most tavern began with the Marinac family and will continue this long journey with new generations of the family. The owners believe that the secret of the longevity of their tavern is love and togetherness in the family, which is reflected in the quality of the overall service.

Apart from the century-old family tradition, the Most tavern also stands out for its exceptional autochthonous Istrian dishes, made from carefully selected ingredients and skilled culinary hands. Fantastic Istrian prosciutto and cheese spiced with real Istrian olive oil with a slice of freshly baked bread, maneštra simmered for hours on low heat, rich venison stew according to the recipe of nonna Maria, hand-made homemade pasta (masters of making traditional gnocchi, fuži, pljukanci, tagliatelle and ravioli). For all lovers of a well-prepared and juicy piece of meat, the ideal choice will be their ombolo, sausages and beefsteak, and for sweet lovers they recommend homemade strudel and special, incredibly tasty and crunchy kroštule. These are just some of the tempting gastronomic delicacies of the Most tavern.

The town of Buzet and its surroundings are blessed with fertile soil and one special mushroom that has also found its way to the door of the tavern; it is a truffle, whose magical taste can be tried in various dishes, depending on the month in which you find yourself in Istria. In April, the tavern Most traditionally hosts the "Asparagus Month", during which you can find various specialties and dishes from these medicinal green wild plants.

Spring is the ideal time to visit Istria, especially its inland, which offers wonderful attractions and natural beauty. If you haven't been yet, take advantage of the nice weather to walk one of the most popular Istrian hiking trails "Seven Waterfalls Trail", and at the end of the day, indulge in the charms of authentic local specialties with a glass of top Istrian wine, in an atmosphere filled with love, attention and wonderful household of the Marinac family in their tavern Most.
